St Mary's Hall Appeal

Enjoys commanding position overlooking R Arun. Built 1868 as Arundel Catholic Church by Duke of Norfolk; Howards were principal Catholic family in England, based at Arundel Castle, and church was surely intended to make a statement! Became cathedral of new diocese of Arundel & Brighton in 1965. More geared-up for visitors than most RC cathedrals so far. Visited gift shop for customary leather bookmark & post card; I explained nature of visit and lady on duty refused to take payment!
