St Mary's Hall Appeal

Construction Diary

September 9

The steelwork and roof beams are now complete.  In case you're thinking the joints look slightly loose, don't worry.  They will be tightened up when everything is in place.  The roof beams will be trimmed too so that they'll all be the same length at the eaves.

July report

It is with great pleasure we are able to report that, as many of you will have noticed, work began on the site of the new St Mary's Hall on Monday 25 June. We can now see that the tremendous effort put into fund raising is starting to bear fruit.

site clearance

The initial clearing of the site has now been completed. The Whipping Post has been safely put in store by the Parish Council and will be positioned in its original place, or as close to it as possible, after the work has been completed.

Site clearance complete

The boundary stones marking the original extent of the Glebe Land have also been carefully removed from the wall which originally marked the division between the churchyard and the  vicarage garden and will be repositioned as features in the spine wall of the new hall. The next significant phase will be construction of the foundations.
